Le Routage à Qualité de Service dans les Réseaux Mobiles Ad Hoc

Abstract : Early designed for best-effort traffic, mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) has now to support new applications including voice or video, and that imposes stringent quality of service (QoS) constraints. Most of the solutions for QoS routing in MANET have been proposed as optional extensions to existing best-effort routing protocols. To mention few, in those solutions the links are still qualified as symmetric based only on connectivity though it is obvious that they are actually not according to values of the parameters that can be taken into account while providing QoS support. Moreover, the solutions based on proactive protocols like the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) usually slight the optimization of flooding in order to concentrate on QoS routes computation. The approach adopted in this thesis is to revise completely MANET representation so that the metrics used as QoS parameters appear on the graph representing the network. Applying our proposals to OLSR, we propose a formulation as a mathematic program for the multipoint relays (MPR) selection while targeting both flooding optimization and QoS support. We also propose a generic heuristic performing the MPR selection based on any number of metrics of any kind. The proposed mechanisms are all integrated in a version of OLSR which is evaluated by simulation using OPNET for a videoconference application which imposes stringent QoS constraints. The scenarios used imply mobile nodes in several environments including wide areas and urban areas.
