Modélisation des sources de courant en mouvement et des efforts électrodynamiques dans les appareils de coupure

Abstract : Etectrotechnlcel modelling of circuit breaker devices requires invesËgation of two main tesks: . Calculation of electrodynamics repulsion force. . Descripdon and predictlon of thc electrlc arc behaviour during lts displacement phase. The 3D developed modelling is based on the Finite Element Method using an electric vector potential formulatlon associated vlth en inductor. Such a method is applied to model the contact between two electrodes and is shown to provide an accurate calculation of the repulsion force. The electic arc is concidered as a moving rigid conductor and thus it is modelled as an electric railgun. The arc movement is first described within the eulerien description in order to visualise the eddy current effects, Then the lagranghn description ls achlwed by step by step resolutlon, wlthout remeching in order to model transient arc movement wlth couptlng of the kinetlc equations.
