Simulation cognitive de la prise de décision d'experts ; application au trafic maritime.

Abstract : Multi-Agents Systems are frequently used for the simulation of interacting entities. These entities might represent expert people and thus must use high-level cognitive processes (perception, decision making, reasoning, data storage in a memory). Cognitive psychology studies those cognitive processes and proposes conceptual models of human cognition. The Naturalistic Decision Making approach and more precisely the RPD (Recognition-Primed-Decision) model how people make efficient decisions in complex situations given their past experience on a domain and the context. The objective of this thesis is to integrate in a multi-agents system –using the Agent-Group-Role paradigm– the RPD model to allow simulations of experts' behaviors. People experience is stored using a situation pattern base. A situation pattern associates prototypical situations to decisions. The decision making model generated, DBP (Decision Based on Patterns) is composed of four steps. First step, perception of the current situation, uses fuzzy sets. Those are used to translate quantitative data from the simulation to interpretable qualitative data. It is followed by a pattern matching process returning one or more prototypical situations. Then, the optimum pattern is retained by the system using agent profiles and the decision is translated in an action. DBP is validated by upgrading TRANS (Tractable Role Agent prototype for concurrent Navigation Systems) simulation platform in order to reproduce the behaviors of maritime experts. The upgrade built, CogTRANS (Cognitive TRANS) is aimed to experts' decisions on board ferries and cargos. CogTRANS simulate collision avoidance in a realistic way. It allows good prospects in terms of comprehension of maritime risks and may be to upgrade navigation training systems.
