Étude de la désintégration B+ --> K_S pi^+pi^0 avec le détecteur BABAR à SLAC

Abstract : The B± → KS π± π0 decays have been extracted from the data which has been taken with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II accelerator of SLAC and have been measured with an amplitude analysis called Dalitz analysis. The decay we are looking for is part of a class of processes that may reveal new physics beyond the standard model and the Cabibbo, Kobayashi and Maskawa formalism. The originality of the present work stands in the perfecting of a fitting algorithm of the events that used the extended maximum likelihood method usable on a non discrete sample. Original statistical and applied mathematical tools have been developed to cope with the low signal over background ratio of the channel with a π0 in the final state and to which a charmed decay with no interdiction factor at all. Through lack of statistics, the method doesn't reach the required sensitivity to permit the testing of the standard model through the measurement of the fundamental phases. However this study brings a better knowledge of the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries of the channels that contribute to the studied decay.
