Abstract : In a.great variety of applications, position sensors are required to control a process. Many types of sensors exist such as optical, electrical and even magnetic devices. Ail of them hâve their own fields of application and also their price. When low priées and màss production sensors are required most ofthe mentionned équipements do not fill thèse conditions. For intance potentiometer sensors give a noisy signal because ofthe moving contact and are subjected to a short Iife time. On the other hand, magnetic sensors are more interesting because of their distance actions that do not require neither a moving contact nor a dust free environment, Fh-stly the principe of magnetic sensors is exposed. Then the main magnetic position sensors are presented. A novel structure of permanent magnet position sensor are proposed. Thèse new sensors hâve a low sensibility for an error form of magnetic circuit éléments (magnet, iron pièces) and a low température sensitivity. In the last part, we présent resuit of analytical and numerical models (fmite éléments), and we compare thèse results with expérimental results.
