Systèmes d'évaluation et de classification multicritères pour l'aide à la décision : Construction de modèles et procédures d'affectation

Abstract : This thesis deals with classification problems and methods for MultiCriteria Decision Aid (MCDA). Classification -or assignment- problems concern objects' assignment to predefined categories. For dealing with the MCDA concepts, Decision-Maker's (DM) preferences have to be taken into consideration. Our approach is based on an indifference relation considered as an indication of DM preferences. The classification principle lies in estimating the membership of an object to categories by valuing the indifference between this object and typical objects of the categories called reference points. This thesis is organized as follows. First, we present a general definition of Multicriteria Classification Methods. Then, we propose a couple of new multicriteria classification methods: the Most Indifferent Prototype and the k-More Indifferent Prototypes, respectively PIP and k-PIP in French. Their reference points (prototypes or examples) mainly distinguish these methods. Beyond their assignment function, the advantage is to provide an understandable explanation of the assignment, which is a crucial aspect of decision aid. Our methods use categories that are characterized by reference points, but finding their determination may not be easy for the DM. This is the reason why we propose two procedures to construct categories' reference points on the basis of a set of learning points. As for the reference points, it could not be easy for the DM to state preferential parameters such as thresholds and weights. With this end of view we propose a procedure for aiding the DM to set the coeficient that measure the relative of criteria (weights), these coeficients being a natural issue of our classification DA process.
