Abstract : This thesis deals with the vertical variability of tropospheric ozone and aerosols in the Mediterranean region, more precisely on the transport processes that govern this variability and the radiative impacts of biomass burning aerosols. The analysis of STAAARTE Hellen 96 campaign, first airborne campaign above Greece, permitted to understand that the ozone variability in the area is governed mainly by long range transport (western Europe, northern Africa, upper troposphere) and secondly by local emissions. Afterwards, the analysis of Pic 2005 campaign, realised on French Pyrenean, permitted to discuss the representativity of ozone at the level of Pic du Midi high altitude station and more precisely to estimate the influence of air masses originating from the rural boundary layer and arriving at Pic du Midi due to summer mountain breezes. On the timescale of some hours, we usually observe a difference of about 10 ppb between the ozone's measurements at Pic du Midi and the free troposphere during summer, which can be explained by transport from the boundary layer and the mixing of these air masses with free troposphere during their vertical displacement. This leads to an influence of the Pic du Midi measurements from the boundary layer by about 20-50%. Lastly, we estimated the radiative impact of biomass burning aerosols layers using either the measurements of a campaign for the study of international pollution transport (ITOP 2004) or the successive observations realised by CALIPSO of the fires at the south Greece on August 2007.
