Développement et validation d'une modélisation hydrologique globale incluant les effets sous maille et la représentation des zones inondées

Abstract : The global hydrological modelling of the CNRM depend on the ISBA land surface model, which typically calculates the water budget on grid cells going from 20 to 500 km on side, and on the TRIP river routing model, which converts the daily total runoff into discharge. With these resolutions, the sub-grid distribution of the land surface characteristics and atmospheric fluxes has a significant impact on the simulated water budget. Then, several original or pre-existent parameterizations of these sub-grid processes were tested with success in off-line mode at both the regional and global scale. Nevertheless, the global scale validation remains sometimes problematic due to uncertainties related to precipitations, land surface parameters and modelling of certain processes such the representation of the floodplains in TRIP. Thus, this underlines the interest of the future satellite missions for better constrain our hydrological modelling.
