Il n'est pas aisé de raconter le déroulement de cette thèse, mais pour reprendre les paroles d'un sage (peut-être pas si sage que ça)Moi si je devais résumer [la thèse] aujourd'hui avec vous, je dirais que c'est d'abord des rencontres, des gens qui m'ont tendu la main peut-être à un moment où je ne pouvais pas, où j'étais seul chez moi Et c'est assez curieux de se dire que les hasards, les rencontres, forgent une destinée Parmi ces rencontres viennent en premier lieu Jacques Colas et Yannis Karyotakis, directeurs successifs du LAPP, qui m'ont accueilli au sein de leur laboratoire et Marie-Noëlle Minard, vicedirectrice à mes débuts, qui m'a orienté vers le groupe H.E.S.S., pendant l'été 2006. À la fin de ce cycle de trois ans, qui m'a parfois paru être une éternité, arrivent les membres de mon jury de thèse, sans qui bien évidemment je ne pourrais imposer aux gens de m'appeler docteur : les rapporteurs Jean Ballet, Bernard Degrange, qui ont permis, par leurs conseils et leurs remarques d'améliorer la qualité de ce manuscrit, Raphaël Gragnier de Cassagnac, Yannis Karyotakis, Massimo Persic, pour s'être intéressés, l'espace d'une heure au moins à l'astronomie ?. Au milieu, mes premiers mots vont évidemment vers mon directeur de thèse Giovanni Lamanna , soutien indéfectible qui m'aura guidé tout au long de cette thèse, qui m'aura donné le courage et la confiance pour aller jusqu'au bout, et à qui je dois finalement beaucoup. Si c'est thèse a abouti, c'est également grâce à l'équipe, Cette thèse touche à sa fin. Trois années de travail sont résumées ici, laissant de côté mille petites anecdotes qui ont émaillé la vie de tous les jours : de sombres histoires de cobra en Namibie ou de réveil par la police municipale qui m'auront apporté de bons et de nombreux conseils et pour les nombreuses re-lecture de thèse, d'abstracts, de proceedings, de présentation. Je n'oublie pas non plus les ingénieurs et techniciens qui ont fait un travail merveilleux sur H.E.S.S. II, et tout particulièrement Nadia Fouque, Jean-Luc Panazol avec qui j'ai pu travaillé dans une atmosphère des plus conviviales du travail effectué en commun avec Yves Gallant Bruno Khélifi et Jim Hinton sur les différentes sources analysées durant cette thèse, et de l'accueil réservé en Namibie par Albert ,
mes grand-parents, mes parents (également pour les nombreuses fautes d'orthographe qui ont été corrigées), mes soeurs, ma nièce (encore un peu jeune pour lire ma thèse), ni celle qui n'est plus, qui m'auront régulièrement nourri ,
