Communications dans les réseaux fortement dynamiques

Abstract : The vehicular networks are an emerging technology incorporating the latest technology of communications. Without infrastructure, network is a ad hoc network, a routing protocol must be used for inter-vehicular communications. We call this type of network, an vehicular ad hoc network (VANET). Our work is organized around two axes: the scalability and management of mobility in a highway context. That is why, we proposed an extension of the ad hoc routing protocol DSR for hybrid ad hoc networks (with a fixed infrastructure). The simulations with JIST/SWANS simulator show improved performance in terms of scalability, connectivity and network capacity. We have also established an analytical model to compare the scalability of two classes of routing protocols: reactive and geographical. We conclude that using a geographical routing protocol and its optimizations improves significantly the scalability. Finally, we propose a distributed algorithm of vehicular convoy formation to improve mobility management in a hybrid ad hoc network on a highways. We evaluated this algorithm using simulations and we found a good quality of convoys formation.
