Géologie de la région de Quom-Aran (Iran). Contribution à l'étude dynamique et géochimique du volcanisme tertiaire de l'Iran central

Abstract : The Qom-Aran region covers an area of about 30000 sq.kms. It is characterized by a number of subpaallel mountains and.depressions, running NW-SE (nearly N 130° E). But for its SW corner (zone of Sanandaj-Sirjan), the greater part of this region belongs to the Central Iran zone. The aldest formation found in the area is ascribed to the Permian. From this time up to the Quaternary, several tectonic events have affected the blocks of the Central Iran zone. The various sedimentation, paleogeographie, and magmatic processes are linked with the movements of these blocks.
