Etude et réalisation d'un micro-nano manipulateur avec retour de force : contribution à son intégration dans une plateforme multicapteurs

Abstract : We have developed methods and instruments for the manipulation with force feedback of objects of very small characteristic sizes (micrometric and nanometric). Using piezoresisitve atomic force microscope cantilevers allows working in a small volume and with few external instruments: we thus added to force feedback, which informs of the deflection of the cantilever, a visual feedback by including our device in a scanning electron microscope for the manipulation of nanometric silicate beads. We have then aimed at combining this manipulator with various other sensors working on different properties of the sample and at different scales: surface plasmon resonance for micrometric scales (dielectric properties) and acoustic waves for millimetric scales (viscosity properties). The development of instruments using these two physical phenomena helped us grasp the difficulties in combining them in a single apparatus for simultaneous measurements. We have always been concerned in describing all the experimental methodologies used in this work: a large number of appendices describe the electronics and software developments used during these experiments. We have aimed at keeping all our prototypes as autonomous and mobile as possible.
