Propriétés physiques de nanofils de polymères conducteurs préparés par la méthode template

Abstract : Organic nanomaterials are very exciting because both characteristic physical length comparable to the size of the object and structural changes induce improved physical properties. Nanowires of Poly(3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) were electrochemically synthesized by the template method and their morphology determined using electron microscopy. The electrical properties down to 1.5 K were determined for several nanowire diameters and compared with the case of PEDOT thin films. The PEDOT, in the critical regime for the films, becomes more and more insulating when the diameter is reduced. A comparative resonant Raman scattering study was made on films and individual wires. We interpret the changes in term of molecular and thus the electronic structure. Results of spectroscopic studies (Absorption, Raman, XPS, ESR) clearly demonstrate that there is a competition between the doping level, the conjugation length, the nature of charge carriers and a structural improvement.
