ETUDE DES INTERACTIONS ENTRE SILICIUM LIQUIDE ET GRAPHITE POUR APPLICATION À L' ÉLABORATION DU SILICIUM PHOTOVOLTAÏQUE

Abstract : The aim of this study has been to propose a method allowing to increase the resistance to oxidation and to corrosion by liquid Si of graphite crucibles used in the purification of metallurgical Si to get solar grade Si. The Thesis is consisted of two parts. In the first part, we study capillary interactions (wetting, infiltration, reactivity) between liquid Si and graphite, and the effect of these interactions on the Si pollution and graphite mechanical integrity. In the second part, we develop a siliciding treatment of graphite, and show that this treatment provides graphite with a remarkable oxidation resistance at high temperature.
