Réalisation de lasers à fibre à contre-réaction répartie pour l'étude de l'injection optique : comparaison à l'injection avec des lasers à semi-conducteurs

Abstract : Optically injection is compared for semiconductor lasers and fibre lasers. Design and manufacture of the fibre laser are detailed. A spectral description of an injected semicon- ductor laser is presented for usual injected power (> -30 dBm), by mapping out several phenomena, such as bistable areas, undamped relaxation and chaos synchronization. For weak injection levels (< -30 dBm), the slave acts as high-quality amplifier of spectrally nar- row signals. In this case, the slave frequency is pulled by the master one. We also present the temporal response of fiber laser output power for static injection, and observe original dynamics linked to relaxation processes. New methods using optical injection are propo- sed to measure the enhancement factor, narrow linewidths or spontaneous emission rate.
