Conception et réalisation d'un système microfluidique pour la production de gouttes calibrées et leur encapsulation.

Abstract : The technology of microencapsulation normally includes two processes : the production of microdroplets/microemulsions and the process of their encapsulation. Due to the difficulties of controlling the microdroplet size, the microcapsules often have a large size distribution. The microfluidic technology allows to ameliorate the microfroplet monodispersity.
The objective of this dissertation is to design and fabricate a microfluidic system for the production and encapsulation of size-controllable droplets. The contribution of this dissertation consists in three aspects : firstly, the geometrical effects on the droplet formation. Secondly, the flow dynamics in the microfluidic systems : the conditions to realize different flow regimes, the laminar flow behaviour, the physico-chemical effects of biphasic fluids on droplet size, the rule correlating of droplet sizes. Thirdly, a microfluidic system is designed in which the whole process of microencapsulation is realized to fabricate the monodisperse microcapsules. They have many perspectives applications.
