Contributions à l'analyse numérique de méthodes de volumes finis, à la modélisation et au calcul en électrocardiologie.

Abstract : The main motivation of my research in applied mathematics concerns the study of models and numerical methods for the electrophysiology of cardiac tissues. The numerical simulations have applications to medical imaging and bioingeneering problems. The reaction-diffusion system of equations for electrocardiology is degenerate, hard to understand, and can by approximated by finite volumes methods.
This document summarizes the main results of my research work in these domains : analysis of the partial differential equations of electrocardiology, numerical experimentation and applications on the one hand; new finite volumes methods and numerical analysis both for anisotropic diffusion equations, reaction-diffusion and convection-diffusion ones and linear hyperbolic systems of equations on the other hand.
The main scientific issue is a better understanding of the equations of electrocardiology and generally of the behaviour of an excitable tissue or a whole organ like the heart.
