Les effets sensibles comme outils d'analyse et d'aide à la conception dans les gares du XIXe siècle

Abstract : This thesis is an investigation on the evolution of a building atmosphere. It's about Saint-Lazare railway station from its construction until today. From about ten years, the most important historical research about architectural and urban environments are trying to demonstrate their relevance and ability to renew the architectural researchs on the built heritage. This research is part of this researchs and aims to enhance operational practices usually implemented. The challenge is to show a link between historical research in the field of atmospheres and urban and architecturaldesign. Also, it proposes a methodology on historical architectural environments that contributes to a better understanding of many phenomena in sensitive environmental history. While analyzing the experiences of sensitive propagations sensitive, we wanted to give each document a meaning and a sens, and to show the particularities of atmosphere history (senstitive effect), its continuities and discontinuities, its elasticity. This writing needed the writing of Saint-Lazare railmway station physical description, and a large investigation to find the feelings that were offered to railway travelers. This thesis establishes a "ground" on which the atmosphere can become a historical object.
