ETUDE ET CONCEPTION D'UN DISPOSITIF DE REFRIGERATION MAGNETIQUE BASE SUR L'EFFET MAGNETOCALORIQUE GEANT

Abstract : The various environmental agreements prohibit the use of usual refrigerants (protocol of Montreal: FC and HCFC and protocol of Kyoto: HFC). It is thus relevant to carry out, in parallel to the current work on the new refrigerating fluids, a research of new solutions of refrigeration ensuring high energy effectiveness and a weak environmental impact. The magnetic refrigeration constitutes one of the solutions. This technology is based on the magnetocaloric effect (MCE), an intrinsic property of certain magnetic materials. Taking into account this activity of innovative research, we chose a global approach in which we tried to master the various aspects of this technology: from the physical principle to the application. With this intention, tools of assistance to comprehension and the design were developed and exploited for the dimensioning of a rotary magnetic refrigeration device with permanent magnets.
