ÉTUDE ET CARACTÉRISATION DE PLASMAS DESTINÉS AU CONTRÔLE ACTIF D'ÉCOULEMENTS GAZEUX SUBSONIQUES

Abstract : The purpose of airflow control is to save energy consumption by, for example, reducing the drag and/or increasing the lift of a body in motion. It is a major challenge in aerodynamics related to technical and economic issues. Compared to the existing control methods, in particular mechanical methods, plasma actuators seem to be a promising technique due to the absence of mechanical mobile parts and allowing therefore a fast action. In this manuscript, we presented in detail a study of plasma actuators created by the surface dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). The electrical, optical and aerodynamic measures of plasma actuators were done according to different parameters and geometries. The effect of such an actuator on a free airflow has been studied on some profiles. Finally, some other potential plasma actuators were developed and studied.
