VIBRATIONS DUES AU PASSAGE D'UN TRAMWAY : MESURES EXPÉRIMENTALES ET SIMULATIONS NUMERIQUES

Abstract : Tram traffic can produce vibrations propagating in soil leading to annoyance for people living or working in neighbouring buildings. Thus vibration is an important parameter to be considered when planning new lines. Within this topic, the aim of this work is twofold. The first objective is to present experimental investigations for the analysis of tram induced vibrations, taking into account various parameters : tram speed, tram type (two manufacturers), track type (standard or floating slab track), and ground configuration. Experimental data and numerical analysis provide a subsoil characterization (Sasw test), a validation of the track behaviour (track-soil transfer functions and track receptance) in comparison with manufacturer's data, and an estimation of the dynamic axle loads acting on the rails (measurements on a carrying bogie). The second objective is to validate numerical models, taking into account track and soil, for the prediction of these tram induced vibrations. Dynamic axle loads are calculated from a simplified wheel-rail surface unevenness, which is validated in comparison with measurements. Coupled equations are solved in the frequency and wave number domain, using Fourier transforms (one or two dimensional). Slab rotations are taken into account and it is shown that these rotations have a strong influence on the ground response. Since the accuracy of the computed wave field amplitudes in the case of a tram passage is rather good, this work can be used for the analysis and validation of new planned lines.
