Optique quantique dans les microcavités semi-conductrices. Spectroscopie de l'ion moléculaire H2+

Abstract : In the first part, I present my research activities on semiconductor microcavities in the strong-coupling regime. The eigenmodes of these systems are mixed exciton-photon modes called cavity polaritons, which exhibit strong optical nonlinearities due to the exciton-exciton interaction. I present several applications of this devices in the fields of quantum optics (squeezing, correlated beam generation), optical communications and spin-dependent opto-electronics.

The second part is devoted to my theoretical and experimental work on the spectroscopy of the H2+ ion. The aim of the experiment, which started in 2003 at the Evry université, is to measure the frequency of a two-photon Doppler-free vibrational transition, and to compare it to accurate theoretical predictions in order to obtain a new determination of the proton-to-electron mass ratio mp/me. I describe the progress of high-accuracy calculations on the H2+ ion (nonrelativistic energy levels, hyperfine structure), the experimental setup and the perspectives of the experiment.
