METHODES ET OUTILS POUR LA CONCEPTION DE COMPOSANTS INTEGRES DANS UN RESEAU ELECTRIQUE EMBARQUE

Abstract : Advances in power electronics of the late twentieth century has led to electrical energy converters that are very reliable and efficient. These power electronic converters enable designers of embedded systems (planes, ships, road vehicles...) to integrate more and more electrical equipment while improving performance, comfort and safety of users. This movement supports the substitution of hydraulic and pneumatic energy by electric power.
Airbus does not stay away from this evolution. The medium term objective is to rationalize the on-board energy in order to create a plane more and more electric powered. It means that aircraft systems powered by hydraulic and pneumatic energy (flight control, air conditioning ...) are more and more fed by electrical energy. Thus, the on-board electrical power increases quickly: 275 kVA for the Airbus A320, 900 kVA for the Airbus 380, 1 MW for the future «bleedless » - Airbus A30X. For dealing with this challenge of increasing power, new electrical system architectures are needed.
The aim of this thesis is to study and develop methods and tools for optimizing the design of an embedded electrical system with the following objectives: minimizing the mass, the volume, the cost and/or maximizing the efficiency while respecting many constraints (power quality, network stability). These methods and tools are applied to the design problem of a power channel for the new generation Airbus aircrafts («bleedless » type).
