De l'évaluation en santé publique à une démarche de géographie de la santé: Le risque amiante environnemental en Nouvelle-Calédonie

Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate that the sanitary risk related to an exposure to environmental asbestos (in New-Caledonia) fit within a spatial framework: communities' cultural values, the game of the social relationships “interfere with”/”come between” the expression of the exposure factors. The sanitary risk must be visualized through the territory, developed “dimension”, shaped, produced by the interested/concerned society.
On the other hand, the organisation of the collective space and the public politics interact with the elements which contribute to the risk expression. The exposure to asbestos dusts in New-Caledonia cannot be understood in its complexity without a country scale thought/consideration, without considering the geographical, political and human specificities of the country.
