SURFACES DE REPONSE PAR KRIGEAGE POUR L'OPTIMISATION DE FORMES AERODYNAMIQUES.

Abstract : Due to the computational cost of numerical simulations solving RANS equations, the range of possible optimization problems is limited. With respect ot this constraint a new response surface based optimizer is presented and applied to various drag minimization problems. It enables to find a better solution than usual gradient based algorithms at an acceptable cost. It is also able to solve high dimensional problems by using gradient enhanced Kriging. Using another framework, response surfaces were also used as a data exchange tool to deal with multidisciplinary shape optimization problems. This way, a bi-level method was applied to find the optimal position of an engine on a civil transport aircraft
