Abstract : In the context of communication and information technologies developments in higher education, the publishing sector was led to integrate digital production in its strategic reflexion.
The current evolution on an international level of digital publishing for university show a real shift between the linguistic areas.
On one hand the international situation is reproduced in France for the hard sciences, but on the other hand the situation of the soft sciences is much more in withdrawal in digital context.
The periodical sector was distinguished from the other university leading sectors and developed a representative not-commercial activity based on digital supports.
Except the dictionaries and encyclopaedias, publishing media did not set up a real digital strategy. The situation stays at the stage of study and analysis. This PhD take place in this context.
This research aims at bringing an analysis of the university publishing position compared to prospects for digital publishing.
Our objective in this work is to develop a comprehension of the stakes and the characteristics which distinguish this field in the digital transition.
It also intend to propose models and recommendations for the development of a digital activity for these sectors.
