Abstract : The first part of the thesis covers the one-dimensional modelling of the counter-gradient zone of the mean potential temperature in the convective boundary layer. The method developed takes into account the third order moments in a 1.5 order model. The second part presents the simulation of the neutral boundary layer. In order to initialise and to validate a LES simulation, a set of experiments in a hydraulic flume were carried out. The results obtained via particle image velocimetry yield the mean and turbulent quantities. A new mixing length parameterization is also proposed.
