Formalisation logique de préférences qualitatives pour la sélection de la réaction d'un agent rationnel dialoguant

Abstract : The formalisation of the rational principle in most agent models seldom allows specifying completely the system reactions. That is why, in this thesis we consider the introduction of an explicit decision phase in those models. More precisely, we propose a new qualitative way to represent the information about the alternatives' desirability which are needed by this phase: the preferences. This way is formalised in first order predicate logic.

In order for preferences to be specified intuitively, we suppose that the "initial" data are comparisons on properties that alternatives may verify. Those comparisons verify the principle of expansion, of transitivity, and of Ceteris Paribus. Moreover, those comparisons are specified by points of view which may be contradictory and such that two properties are judged indifferent by default.
In order to compare of a large number of alternatives and in particular to pass a limit of the Ceteris Paribus hypothesis, we propose to extend those information with an "extension" phase by considering each preference as an argument for choosing an alternative.
In order to handle contradictions between points of view, we formalise the introduction of an "aggregation" stage. This stage generates, with an election technique, a unique global preference.

Lastly, we propose a way to integrate our work into the logical model of rational agent proposed by Sadek and also a way to use our preferences with other kind of desirability information.
