Influence de la stratification stable sur la turbulence atmosphérique : une contribution expérimentale

Abstract : A campaign of simultaneous measurements obtained from one part in-situ by an instrumented balloon between the ground and 18 km altitude, on the other by a remote sensing Stratosphere-Troposphere radar allows an experimental study of the scales domain of three-dimensional isotropic turbulence, the domain of random gravity waves and the transition between them. Main results were: inertial turbulence is observable if the available spectral space is sufficiently broad and non-passive character of temperature fluctuations is evident. The anisotropy fluctuations in the transition domain is intermediate between those observed in neighboring areas and radar measurements show that it remains important down to scales of about 3 m.
