Etude de l'Ecoulement Sanguin dans des Fistules Arterio-Veineuses Reconstruites à Partir d'Images Médicales.

Abstract : During the hemodialysis session, the blood is purified through an extracorporeal artificial kidney. High flow in the surgically created vascular access, arterio-venous fistula AVF, leads to a successful blood suction and reinjection. In order to understand the relation between the blood flow dynamics and the physiopathology, it is necessary to understand its characteristics in these vessels. Clinically it is possible to measure blood vectors using the color echo Döppler. Nevertheless this method is has its limitations. Therefore we propose to use biomechanical model.
In this work we have studied blood flow dynamics in patient specific AVF. The principal object was to define and validate a robust methodology capable of simulating blood flow in the AVF reconstructed from clinical examinations.
