Nouvelle approche pour l'amélioration de la synchronisation en IRM cardiaque, modélisation de l'effet magnétohydrodynamique.

Abstract : During cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging the ElectroCardioGram recorded for synchronization is highly corrupted by various electromagnetic artifacts obstructing correct detection of the cardiac cycle. One of the contaminating sources is the MagnetoHydroDynamic effect that is due to the movement of the blood's charged particles in the magnetic environment. In this work, a reliable method for double synchronization on the cardiac and respiratory rhythm is developed which efficiently enhances the quality of high resolution cardiac MR images. The major alterations of human ECG signals are assessed using time and frequency domain analysis. Then, in order to predict this artifact's contamination levels, various flow models of blood in a magnetic field are studied. The effects of the magnetic field on the flow were shown, and induced surface voltages, liable to alter the ECG waveform, are estimated.
