Systèmes intégrés asynchrones et de traitement des signaux non uniformément échantillonnés

Abstract : The studies presented in this HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Re cherches) thesis result from a part of the CIS group activities at the TIMA laboratory. These researches have been focused on alternative techniques for designing signal processing and integrated systems (System-on-Chip).These works have demonstrated many times in many situations the asynchronous approach relevance. For instance, asynchronous techniques are suitable for designing reliable synchronization mechanisms, securing crypto-processors against side-channel attacks and easing designs in decananometric technologies where process variations, low-voltages and static leakage are challenging issues to address. The formalism of asynchronous design methods has also been studied in order to develop CAD tool for synthesizing Quasi-Delay Insensitive and micropipeline circuits. Finally a novel signal processing approach, fully compliant with the event-driven asynchronous logic principles, has been proposed. In particular, the researches show the benefits of non-uniformly sampled signals which are able to help reducing the integrated system power consumption by one to two orders of magnitude in the field of signal processing.
