Abstract : The works presented in this thesis deal with the simultaneous design of a product and its supply chain while facing a demand with a large diversity. Between product design and supply chain management, these works are closely related to the field of Integrated Engineering or Concurrent Engineering. With the growth of the product diversity, this simultaneous approach proves to be necessary to quickly design a product family and its supply chain in order to minimise the global operating cost of the supply chain. The first part deals with the design of products. It presents a routine approach to design products with large diversity and some computer aided tools that rely on generic models and constraints satisfaction approach (CSP models). The result of this first step is a set of design solutions. The second part deals with the design of supply chains. It presents an approach allowing to select a design solution and to specify the supply chain layout thanks to a mixed integer linear programming model. The model targets to optimise a global operating cost of the supply chain. These works are relevant to an industrial problem of automotive wiring harness design.
