Gènes codant pour le Récepteur de Type 1 à l'Angiotensine II (AGTR1) et pour l'Aldostérone Synthase (CYP11B2) : Hypertension Artérielle et Variables de Retentissement Cardiovasculaire chez l'Homme.

Abstract : To assess the role of renin-angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) in the genetic determinism of human hypertension and its consequences on heart and vessels, we studied i) a monogenic form of hypertension, glucocorticoid remediable aldosteronism (GRA), ii) some associations of AGTR1 and CYP11B2 genes, coding for angiotensin II type 1 receptor and aldosterone synthase respectively, with arterial blood pressure, and phenotypes reflecting cardiovascular remodeling. First, data obtained in a newly identified family with GRA focused on the importance of the early diagnosis of this illness. Second, association studies showed that the A allele of the A1166C polymorphism of AGTR1 gene was associated with increased arterial stiffness, and that -344C/T polymorphism of CYP11B2 gene influenced the left ventricular mass index determinism. This data underline the major role of RAAS genes in cardiovascular remodeling.
