Biophysique des macromolécules uniques et des réseaux d'expression génétiques bactériens

Abstract : We studied the elasticity of single DNA and RNA molecules. We showed that the coupling between traction and rotation of a single DNA molecule allows to obtain various structures that are away by a few kT in energy of the canonical Watson-Crick. Thermal fluctuations of the lenght of the DNA molecule can account for the interaction mecanism between the RecA protein and the DNA molecule. Force experiments on RNA molecule reveals the importance of transient pairing during mecanichal denaturation.
