Aspects expérimentaux et cliniques de l'Hypnose

Abstract : This study aims at providing a better definition of hypnosis and of its relations with suggestion.

It covers a sample of 52 subjects whose hypnotic susceptibility was measured with an hypnotisability scale derived from Stanford's hypnosis scales.

The main points of this study are:

1-A presentation of the history of hypnosis and of the various paradigms proposed as credible explanations for this phenomenon.

2-An account of various researches and of their contributions to understanding the relationship between hypnosis and suggestion,

3-A presentation of the study and of the tools and methods used to perform it. Those tools allow: - the analysis of hypnotic behaviours, - the study of the patient's experience of suggestions, - and also the study of the patient's experience of hypnosis . Data are analysed with the help of the Benzécri's "analysis of correspondences".

This very precise and detailed thesis will prove a useful tool to readers in general and to professionals engaged in training in particular by enabling them to have a better knowledge of all the reactions which can be observed in an hypnotic situation.
