Des sites historiques inscrits par l'Unesco et leurs politiques patrimoniales. L'exemple de Porto, de Lyon et de Vérone

Abstract : There are more and more signs testifying of our societies attachment to their past or to their cultural legacy. The UNESCO's seal of excellence, the highest distinction granted to natural or cultural sites, reflects the will to preserve and transmit our heritage. The aim of this dissertation is to analyze and compare the cultural policies of three cities listed among UNESCO world heritage sites, namely Oporto, Lyons, and Verona. It remains to be understood how these cities, that nothing seemed to qualify for such a mark of international distinction, have managed to turn their cultural legacy into a crucial resource, likely to be instrumental in providing balanced solutions towards sustainable development.
