Caractérisation de l'activité de conception collaborative à distance :
Etude des effets de synchronisation cognitive

Abstract : Co-operation is an important issue in design teams today. Concurrent engineering lead the industrial organizations to evolve from a sequential approach to an integrated approach. Thus design processes are carried out more and more in a distributed way, the designers being located in different places. To study these problems, this thesis analyzes the distributed design activity through various protocol analysis. In particular we focus on the characterization of design activities and the modeling of the shared understanding phenomena through artifacts (design intermediary objects). From these results two proposals are made: on one hand, a model of activity which takes into account the collective and cognitive aspects of design, and on the other hand, a framework for the analysis and the development of support tools for the collective activity of design.
