Évaluation des effets du flutamide, molécule antiandrogénique, sur l'appareil reproducteur mâle chez le Rat - Approches protéomique et transcriptomique

Abstract : For several years, certain environmental chemicals known as endocrine disruptors have been suspected to modulate essential functions like reproduction and development in intact organisms. In conventional toxicology studies the characterization of the adverse effects of such compounds usually relies on classical measurements. Using conventional parameters and new “-omics” tools developed in this work, we tried to evaluate the mechanism of action, at the molecular level, of an antiandrogen model compound, flutamide, known to affect the male rat reproductive tract. We have been able to show the added value of using transcriptomic and proteomic approaches in conventional toxicology studies.
