Un test des déterminants internes de la motivation situationnelle en contexte naturel :
Approche hiérarchique de la motivation en Education Physique et Sportive

Abstract : The hierarchical model of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation (HMIEM, Vallerand, 1997) postulate that individual motivation in a specific task should be predict by internal psychological factors such his or her motivation from one or several life context linked with this situation. This study was trying to confirm this influence source in physical education (PE) context. The results by structural equation modelling of four successive studies show that the student's motivations in physical activity outside school don't directly influence his or her contextual motivation toward PE. These results were bringing to the fore by the development of a contextual scale in PE. We are also pointing out that more the student feels competent in sport and physical activities less he is self-determined during the PE lesson. Our reasoning has conducted us to prove a motivational conflict form among the students during the PE lesson. His or her view of the lesson specifies the link between his or her situational motivations and one or another his or her contextual motivations (i.e. sport or PE). As the postulate of the HMIEM, the top-down and bottom-up effects between the two levels of generality confirms the cross-lag effect between situational and contextual motivations in PE.
