Abstract : The works of this thesis consign plastic shrinkage and cracking induced for cement based material having great exposed areas. The plastic shrinkage is a deformation of cement based materials which occurs before hardening. The reference mortar considered for this study is a formulation in other exploited by CEReM (consortium for Study and Research on the Mortar). In thesis, a whole experimental means was set up in order to study the very early age behavior of mortar under free and restrained shrinkage condition. Measurement without contact of free shrinkage (surface shrinkage) is carried out by means of an optical instrumentation. A new technique of restrained shrinkage was also setting up: it is distinguished from the others usually met in literature by its simplicity and it makes it possible to have directly the internal stress evolution in material during the shrinkage. The whole of these experimental protocols made it possible to study the influence of fibers (AR glass fibers, polypropylene fibers) admixtures (cellulose ether, latex EVA) and additive anti-shrinkage (Glycol type) in plastic shrinkage. Part of the thesis, is devoted to numerical modeling of mortar behavior during the plastic shrinkage. In this part, an elastoplastic model is proposed. Plasticity is described by Von Mises isotropic criterion in which we introduced an evolution of the load surface according to material's maturation. The establishment of this model in a computer code led to the digital simulation of the restrained shrinkage test: a comparison between model and experiment is then discussed.
