Etude de l'interface oxyde-solution par relaxométrie RMN
Application à la synthèse de nanoparticules catalytiques

Abstract : The use of colloidal precursors is a promising preparation method for heterogeneous catalysts in the oil and gas refining and petrochemical technology.
However, due to the rapid evolution of the precursors during synthesis, a fast colloidal characterisation method is needed if well-controlled catalysts
are to be prepared.

In this work, it is shown that NMR relaxation has the desired time resolution and provides a way to monitor both the degree of colloid formation and their
aggregation state. The method has been applied to the synthesis of palladium oxide nanoparticles.

In addition, some fundamental aspects of NMR relaxation in heterogeneous environment have been investigated, such as the interfacial water properties.
This provides the basis for the application of the method to a wide variety of colloidal oxides in a wide variety of dispersion states,
from dilute sols to wet powders.
