Etude expérimentale et modélisation d'une précipitation avec agglomération entrecristaux de morphologies différentes : application au molybdate de strontium

Abstract : Experimental results about precipitation of strontium molybdate particles show several possible morphologies (bipyramides and ellipsoids) and hierarchical agglomerates. Initial concentration of strontium molybdate has a strong effect on the crystals and agglomerates morphology, and temperature and stirring rate as well. The precipitation of strontium molybdate was studied and monitored by conductimetry in the liquid phase in a batch reactor The shape of crystals and agglomerates was observed by SEM and the PSD was measured at the end of precipitation. The powders were also analysed by XRD, surface area (BET) and porosimetry. The final goal of this study was to establish a model of agglomeration coupled with nucleation and crystal growth in order to predict the morphologies of the hierarchical agglomerates. The commercially available solver for population balance Parsival was used to simulate precipitation and obtain PSDs and desupersaturation profiles.
