DÉVELOPPEMENT DE FORMULATIONS ÉLECTROMAGNÉTIQUES ÉLÉMENTS FINIS 3D POUR LA
MODÉLISATION DES DISPOSITIFS EN FRÉQUENCE ÉLEVÉE

Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to develop 3D finite element formulations for high frequency devices simulation. The difficulties of the modelling of such devices link to:
- Their 3D complex geometry: Multiply connected magnetic circuit, problem of connexity in case of scalar magnetic potential formulation.
- Pronounced skin effect related to the high working frequency. In such situation, the evaluation of eddy current loss and in particular proximity losses is very difficult.
Taking into account all these difficulties, we have performed suitable developments which permit:
- Firstly, to automatically detect all sustainable problems linked to multiply connected magnetic circuit. In particular, we have implemented an algorithm which creates automatically the necessary cuts to solve the connexity problem.
- Secondly, to take into account proximity losses by using a complex permeability. This permits
- Dans un deuxième temps, de prendre en compte des pertes par effet de proximité en utilisant une perméabilité complexe équivalente. This reduces drastically the number of unknowns used in eddy current evaluation. This allows final user to economize in time and computation effort. Various methods of complex determination have been investigated and have given very good results.
These developments have been validated in scientific finite element software successfully. They permit a simple utilisation of scalar magnetic potential formulation. Moreover, they allow a bigger application field of this formulation and enable some simulations which are until now unfeasible.
