Nature des liaissons C-F dans divers matériaux carbonés fluorés par voie gazeuse et par voie plasma radiofréquence

Abstract : The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) study of fluorinated carbon materials has shown that the nature of C-F bonding as well as their relative amounts are dependent on the nature of the host carbon materials (carbon fibers, pyrocarbon, exfoliated graphite or carbon blacks), the heattreated treatments which increase the degree of graphitisation, the type of fluorination treatments (gaseous or plasma procedure) and the fluorination conditions. Various techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy have allowed to correlate the structure of carbon materials and their reactivity under active fluorinated species (F2 or F°). Moreover, the fluorination mechanisms associated with the intercalation of fluorine and the surface treatments have been proposed. At last, a kinetic study of deintercalation decomposition process of fluorinated intercalated carbon fibers has been investigated by the Controlled transformation Rate Thermal Analysis (CRTA).
