Étude du quark top avec ATLAS au LHC.
Mise en route du calorimètre électromagnétique

Abstract : The LHC collider will start in 2007 at CERN. It will study the origins of mass and look for new physics. The ATLAS experiment will exploit its potentialities using a multilayer generalist detector.
Quark top studies will be an important step for ATLAS: its properties may reveal new phenomena. To accomplish this, quark top and W boson polarizations are studied here with a detailed detector simulation, which validates previous simplified simulation results. ATLAS should yield a precision of 1 to 4 % with 10 fb-1 of data. This precision is sufficient to select among several new physics models. ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter is crucial for the observatiton of electrons and photons, used in particular for Higgs boson searches. Its commissioning is illustrated here with the analysis of ramp data, that is the ratio between calibration impulses and electronics response, and cosmic muons observation, as the first overall test of the reading electronics chain in actual working conditions.
