Propagation d'ondes cohérentes et résonances dans des milieux élastiques présentant des inclusions cylindriques périodiquement ou aléatoirement distribuées

Abstract : In the present thesis, the propagation of acoustics waves in multiple scattering elastic media, either periodic or random, is studied. The multiple scattering process is described by a multiple scattering formalism developed as part of modal theories. In the first and second chapters, the scattering by a cluster of a few scatterers and by an infinite periodic linear array of scatterers is studied from the resonant point of view. Next, in the third chapter, the propagation of waves in a two-dimensional periodic array (i.e. phononic crystal) is analysed. To calculate the reflection and transmission coefficients, the approach consists in considering the two-dimensional array as a periodic series of infinite periodic linear arrays. This approach is also used in the last chapter to validate an effective medium theory, originally developed for purely random multiple scattering media ; the theory is validated by adapting it to random distributions of infinite periodic linear arrays, i.e. to half-periodic media.
