Etude des effets des micro-ondes sur la magnéto-photoluminescence des gaz bidimensionnels électroniques.

Abstract : We report on a study of microwaves-irradiated high mobility two dimensional electron gas by means of magneto-photoluminescence (PL) measurements. We show at high microwave frequencies only one resonant absorption attributed to electronic cyclotron resonance, but at lower
frequencies, additional peaks appear, suggesting more complex phenomena. The optical probing of the properties of a 2DEG in magnetic field allows to find the energy distribution of carriers and thus to show a strong increase of electron and hole temperatures. We show that
microwaves contribute to a modification of the electronic distribution function, the appearance of secondary absorptions like the harmonic of the cyclotron resonance, but also at lowest microwaves energy to the existence of magneto-plasmons. Finally, we discuss the contribution of
the observed effects on MIROs phenomenon.
