Comprendre et construire les environnements d'apprentissage

Abstract : This synthesis note for the Accreditation to supervise research presents twenty years of research on learning environments, i.e. on elements delining the outlines and the components of a situation during the course of which it is possible to learn, to implement a behaviour or a knowledge change process.
Most of the time, the environments considered in these researches embed artifacts, instruments usable for learning, but should not be confused with what is known in France as "Environnements informatiques pour l'apprentissage humain (EIAH)".
This note is build around two categories of issues: on one hand, to understand learning environments; on the other, to build them. These two categories echo together in a dynamic research process: understanding, for building efficient and relevant learning environments for a given audience and a given type of learning; building in order to understand, because the relevance of a learning environment is only demonstrated through careful obesrvation of its effects, which requires experimentation, analysis of the effects and lessons drawn from the experimentation.
