Abstract : This research explores professional practices facing otherness in health matters, when users and care offer are perceived as mutually inadapted. 96 professionals dealing with access to health care in french Guyana have been interviewed.
Are analysed the way professionals identify users, partners and State, as a way to interpret the difficulties of access to health care that they may witness; then specific practices that they perform towards so-categorised users ; and at last the way ethnicity (creole/metropolitan) as well as professional variables shape such categorisations and such practices.
